I didn’t know where I was going with this painting when I started it. Once I got to a certain point, I stopped. I just stared at it.
For days I kept feeling like it needed more from a critical standpoint… but at the same time, I felt so much love for this painting as it is, that I couldn’t bear to change it. There is so much I love about it, that it weighed out my urge to add anything else.
This piece and how I feel about it almost resembles true love— when you love someone deeply, you can see all of their flaws, but you wouldn’t want them any other way.
