Frequently Asked Questions
A: Yes! but I only take a certain number of commissions a year. I like to focus on one commission at a time, giving it my full and undivided attention in the studio.
Q: How much is shipping?
A: Shipping costs vary depending on the size of the work. Often, I do my best to give complimentary shipping out of my deep gratitude and appreciation for my collectors :)
Q: Can I do a payment plan?
A: Payment plans can be done directly through my website via ShopPay. We can also discuss a custom payment plan, just reach out to me via email at laura@lauramitsu.com.
Q: Do paintings come ready to hang?
A: Yes, absolutely. All of my paintings come with a hanging wire installed on the back of the canvas. If it's a painting on paper, it will come matted and ready to frame (unless otherwise stated).
Q: Do the paintings come framed?
A: None of my paintings come framed currently. If you would like me to frame it prior to shipping, this will include an extra charge.
Q: Do you deliver?
A: I personally do not, BUT I do offer free local pick-up for all purchases. You can come pick the work up directly from my art studio and you can see where the painting was created.
Q: Does it come with insurance when you ship it?
A: Yes, I always purchase insurance at the time of shipping! If something happens to it, I will file a claim.
Q: How do I know that a painting will physically fit the space?
A: If you have concerns about it not fitting a space, send me an email and I'd be happy to confirm whether a specific painting will fit there.
Q: Can you create a mock-up that shows me what a painting will look like in my space?
A: Absolutely! I'd be happy to do that for you -- I'm a visual learner so I appreciate seeing things so I can visualize them better. Let me know is which painting you're considering, send me a photo of the space head-on, and give me the measurements of the wall space (height and width in feet). This will allow me to make a mockup for you, with the painting in the space. This will give you a great visual idea of how it will look in your space.
Q: Do you do portraits/pet portraits?
A: No. I'm an abstract artist and I don't do any sort of figurative work. There's plenty of other amazing artists who do portraits and pet portraits. :) If you need a recommendation, I'll be happy to give you a couple.
