"The city reflects on the water
lights glimmering
they shine so brightly
reflecting into our eyes...

I had to leave a place I felt alive
so that I too could shine
there may be another reality
where, perhaps,
we may have stayed...
I don't know what happens there
but one thing is for certain
I carry this city with me now
I carry the neighborhood I lived in
I carry the corner store's flowers
I carry the way the train
would rock me to sleep
after a long overnight shift
I carry it all
here
in this reality
with me
always."
